East Alaska 0 with Bearfoot PARK VISITOR CENTER
The Wrangell-St. Elias Visitor Center in Copper Center is located at Mile 106.8 on the Richard- son, about eight miles south of Glennallen. This is the main park visitor center and the largest in Wrangell-St. Elias. At this Copper Center loca- tion, there is no direct route into the park, but you can view the park from the Copper River bluff. Ifyou 'd like to venture into the park, drive either the Nabesna or the McCarthy Road.
STAY OVERNIGHT
To access the southern portion of the park, take the Richardson Highway south to Milepost 83. Turn on the Edgerton Highway, and travel 31 miles to the town of Chitina where you 'll reach the McCarthy Road and the entrance to the park. There are B&B

are also plenty of accom- modations and places to eat in the towns of Kenn- icott and McCarthy.	National Park.
KENNICOTT MINES NATIONAL
HISTORIC LANDMARK
The Kennicott Mines are a National Historic Land- mark within Wrangell-St. Elias National Park & Preserve. The buildings in Kennicott are being restored by the National Park Service restoration crew. The mines are accessible via the McCarthy Road.
