GULKANA AIRPORT Gulkana Airport, pictured above, is located at Mile 118 of the Richardson Highway, just a few miles north of Glennallen. Here, there's a long runway that allows for flightseeing and bush planes to take off and depart. The Gulkana Airport is one of the main weather recording stations in the Copper Valley. Although the airport is called "Gulkana" it's actually closer to Glennallen than to Gulkana Village. The airport was part of a series of emergency World War II Lend Lease airstrips across Canada and Alaska.

ROAD INTERSECTION Glennallen is most well known for being the inter- section of the Glenn and Richardson Highways. As such, Glennallen is a supply town for the area. There are no stoplights between Palmer and North Pole when you travel the Glenn & Richardson.
