In Anchorage, it's routine to see wild game animals. Moose ,	black	bears,	and swans are often spotted in Anchorage and Turnagain Arm.
To see several large mam- mals at the same time, res- idents and visitors can go to the Alaska Zoo, in South Anchorage	and	Alaska Wildlife Conservation Cen- ter (AWCC) in Portage.
Both viewing areas are open year round, and fea- ture a variety of animals na- tive to South central Alaska .
Also, look for birds in coastal areas, forests, and wetlands.
