HERITAGE
Built along Alas- ka's Interior riv- ers , Fairbanks is a gathering place for the many Alas- kan Natives who live off the Alaskan road system. Many villages are only accessed by plane or barge, and Fair- banks is the largest northern town in Alaska.
Traditional danc- es, art fairs, and workshops are held yearly as lo- cal tribes gather at conferences and to share experienc- es from life in the great north .
TRADITIONAL
DANCES are passed through time.

The Morris Thompson Cultural and Visi- tor's Center is the one-stop shop for visi- tor information in Fairbanks. Several Vis- itor Centers that were once spread out over town have consolidated in this new, modern building. You can access maps and trip planning from the Public Lands Information Center, as well as have "Ex- plore Fairbanks" staff answer more gen- eral tourism questions. Morris Thompson is a must stop for people adventuring off the beaten path, as well as those seeking to understand the potential activities Fair- banks has to offer. It's important to stop at the Visitor Centers in Alaska because recreational opportunities and navigation may not be immediately visible for "off- the-cuff" and adventure travelers.
