THE WAY TO FAIRBANKS You'll arrive in Fairbanks by plane, train, or highway. Fairbanks has an international airport and planes ar- rive from Anchorage and around the world daily. Two major roads enter Fairbanks from the south the Parks Highway and the Richardson High- way. The Alaska Railroad runs be- tween Anchorage and Fairbanks with stops in Denali, all summer long.

ALONG THE RIVER Fairbanks is built along the Chena River, which flows straight through the heart of town by Airport Way. The Chena River was the way miners got to Fairbanks during the Gold Rush. The Chena flows into the Tanana River, which flows into the Yukon - and connects Fairbanks to 42 Native villages on the riverways of Alaska.
