DENALI NATIONAL PARK
Catch A Bus At Denali Bus Depot There are three kinds of buses that operate in Denali Park. The first is a free entrance area shuttle bus. These free buses will take you around the entrance area and all the way to Savage River. To get beyond Savage River, you will have to buy a ticket at the Bus Depot for either a tan tour bus or a green transit bus. On the green transit buses, you bring your own food and water. You can buy sandwiches and park bus lunches at many local shops outside the park. The driver will stop for wildlife, and you can get off and walk, and change to a different bus. Green buses are less expensive than the tan tour buses, which also go into the park. The tan buses cost more, but offer a narrated trip, and often supply food and drink.
Nearby Communities You'll find Denali Park services to the north and south of the park entrance. There are great restaurants, guided adventure tours, campgrounds, gift shops, hotels, motels, cabins and B&B's - all nearby. On a small strip of land, where the Nenana River carves through the Alaska Range , is a dense business area that locals call "The Canyon." In the summer, this is a very busy spot, with the only stoplights between Wasilla and Fairbanks. North of the Canyon lies Healy, a year-round community, with many services. South of the park, you 'll find nice restaurants, over- night accommodations, and flightseeing operations. Cantwell, which also offers services, is only about 25 minutes to the south ofthe park entrance.
