From the end of Airport Way & the Steese Highway in Fair- banks, take the Richardson Highway 12 miles south to the Santa Claus Lane exit at Mile 349. The town has shops, Christmas displays, fast food, groceries, a hotel, a visitor center, and a post office where you can send letters from the North Pole.

North Pole is a close drive to Fairbanks. You can easily visit North Pole and the Chena Lakes area in an afternoon. Be- tween North Pole and Fairbanks is the largest number of lanes on any stretch ofthe entire Richardson Highway.
