LONG ROAD
Tundra landscapes stretch for a hundred miles on the Denali Highway. This unpopulated road is a great side trip or day adventure. Keep in mind that your car has to be up for the task. Some rental car companies do not allow travel on gravel roads, so check with your company and plan ahead. There are a handful of wil- derness lodges on the Denali Highway in the summer, but be sure to head out on your journey with a full tank of gas and a spare tire. There are fishing opportunities for arctic grayling, a perfect catch and release fish , on the Denali Highway.
