DAV IN
TALKEETNA
There's	always something	fun happening in Tal- keetna. There are outdoor eateries, and benches for just sitting. You can wander up and down Main Street, look at the shops, hang out, drink a cup of coffee and watch	everyone else.	Although there are many tourists in town in the summer, there are also lots of lo- cal people enjoy- ing themselves.

LOG CABINS
Talkeetna residents have been making and living in log cabins for years. When arriving in the 1920's and 30's, Gold Rush pioneers didn't have access to saw boards and traditional nails and fasteners. So, they built log cabins out of local spruce trees, using notch construction. Even today, cabins may be built with only a few hand tools.
STREETS MADE FOR WALKING
Unlike many places in Alaska that are dominat- ed by vehicle traffic, Talkeetna is compact and easy to walk and bike around.
