THE TOWN
EVERYONE LOVES
Talkeetna is a place where visitors can see - and do - many activities in a relatively compact and accessible area. Flightseeing, activity tours, and restaurants create a festive atmosphere, within view of the mountain. Take advantage of the recreational activities and museums here.
FOURTH OF JULY
The Fourth of July Parade is a huge	Talkeetna	celebration. Watch the festivities on Main Street.
BUSH PLANE near downtown Talkeetna.
MANY PLANES Taking climbers and sight- seeing visitors to North America's highest moun- tain isn't an easy task. Old- time bush pilots' pictures hang on local walls and are elevated to almost mythi-
cal status.
THE MOUNTAIN This isn't Everest base camp, it's Talkeetna, Alaska. But the energy surrounding the climbers attempting to summit Denali, North Amer- ica's highest peak, is the same. Climbers in spring and early summer carry their gear and nervous en- ergy up the mountain, and return with deep tans and ravenous appetites.
