VALDEZ HAS GREAT MUSEUMS
The Valdez Museum is an excellent stop in downtown Valdez. The Museum has a nice blend of historical items and interactive features. Check out the display documenting the 1989 crude oil spill and clean -up. There are also items from the Gold Rush and the GreatAlaskan Earthquake. In the 1964 Earthquake,theOldTown ofValdezwasdestroyed by a tsunami. Also, check out the Maxine and Jesse Whitney Museum at Prince William Sound College for historical and curated Alaskan artifacts and wildlife mounts.
