VALDEZ
WINTER SNOW
Sometimes in early summer, you 'll see a large pile of melting snow. That's because in win- ter, Valdez sits under hundreds of inches of snow. The excess snow is heaped into a mound in the center of town. Houses can be buried up to their eaves in snow and massive front end loaders are a necessity. In fact, Valdez has been recognized as the snowiest city in America.
