Wit h Bearfoot	EAST OF ANCHORAGE GLACIERS
There are many accessible glaciers along the eastern road system.
Roadside Glaciers and Moraine
Heading along the Glenn and Richardson Highways, you 'll see plenty of mountain glaciers. Glaciers may also be seen on the waters of Prince William Sound and in Wrangell-St. Elias National Park, near Kennicott and McCarthy, Alaska.
Matanuska Glacier
There are spectacular views of the Matanuska Glacier near Mile 100 on the Glenn Highway. Glacier access is available on tours in the area. You can take a glacier walk, and go ice climbing or rafting.
Worthington Glacier
At Mile 29 of the Richardson Highway, Worthington Glacier is a must-see glacier on your trip to Valdez. A short hike here in Thompson Pass takes you to great berry picking in August. There are tiny alpine flowers, for macro-photography in summer.
Columbia Glacier
Prince William Sound has multiple glaciers and is relatively calm, so many people take glacier cruises here. Glaciers in Prince William Sound may be seen in the mountains or right on the water.
