SOLDOTNA
CITY OF SOLDOTNA
Soldotna has a large shopping district with big stores. So does its neighboring town, the City of Kenai. What separates them from other cities is that most small towns don 't have a world-renowned salmon river flowing through them. Just after you cross the bridge in Soldotna, you'll see the Soldotna Visitor Center. The Soldotna Visitor Center will help you connect with the recreational and fish- ing opportunities in the area. The Kenai National Wildlife Refuge also has a visitor center in Soldotna - off of Funny River Road.

LOWER KENAI FISHING
You can fish along the boardwalks all over Soldotna. Many locals and visitors catch salmon here during summer. Tired fishermen crowd the local hotels, as Soldotna is a supply town for much of the Kenai Peninsula area. Soldotna is inter- connected with the city of Kenai. Almost all routes to Kenai pass through Soldotna , with local busi - nesses in between.
Soldotna is a good place for av- erage fishermen who want to fish for reds and silvers from shore. Be prepared for company, because when red salmon are running in mid-July, a lot of people show up.
