Tern Lake Junction (Mile 37 Seward Highway)
The Tern Lake Junction is an important "Y" on the Seward Highway at Mile 37, ninety miles from Anchorage. Here , the Sterling Highway meets the Seward Highway. Contin- ue south on the Seward Highway and you 'll reach Moose Pass and Seward. Travel west on the Sterling Highway, and you'll reach Cooper Landing, Soldotna, Kenai, and Homer. This junction is surprisingly easy to miss.
Chugach National Forest
As you head south to Seward, a great system of trails & campgrounds make this region prime recreational real es- tate. Drive into the campgrounds and check out the lakes, salmon spawning grounds and places to have a pleas- ant picnic. There are over 200 miles of trail, 40 public use cabins, and multiple Forest Service campgrounds. Some campgrounds can be booked online, which helps securing a site during busy weekends.

Moose Pass (Mile 29 Seward Highway)
Moose Pass is a small settlement north of Seward, near Trail Lake. There's a working water wheel at the center of Moose Pass, with a real grindstone. This community-oriented town of about two hundred has a lodge, stores, and a K-8 grade school.
Trail River Campground (Mile 24 Seward)
Further south of Moose Pass is Trail River Camp- ground. Trail River runs from Trail Lake to Kenai Lake, and the campground is on Trail River Road . This large campground is situated on the impressive shores of Kenai Lake.
