Nature Walks
One of the easiest walks in Fairbanks is found along the Chena River banks. The Chena River flows just north of Airport Way. Walking along the Chena, you even pass behind Pioneer Park. Another good walk- ing and jogging spot is the UAF ca mpus. The hills here provide plenty of elevation, with sidewalks, and low traffic roads and trails. For an all-day hike, get infor- mation at Morris Thompson for long hikes near Chena State Recreation Area around Mile 30 of t he Chen a Hot Spings Road north of Fairban ks.

Fairbanks is one of the busiest art towns in Alaska, full of work- ing artists who ma ke a living from their craft. Several art galleries in town support local painters - whose tastes run from scenic to ab- stract. Meanwhile, Fair- banks has a sizable art scene from Alaska Na- tive artists in neighbor- ing northern villages.
